The new "Home is Nevada" UGLY standard license plate that replaced the fairly ugly but not so ugly standard license plates. In my case, moving here in 2005; I just paid a bit more for the veteran's plate since it was just plain white, with the service seal and a four digit code. I no longer want to advertise military veteran status.

Zoom to late 2017 when I purchased a new car and wanted to rid myself of the battered tags. Ordered the blue Circa 1982 plates. Plain, simple, straightforward, elegant in graphic design, lacking the UGLY "Nevada old west swinging saloon door font".

Now, I am seeing a lot of cars around town sporting the "vintage" plates. My attitude is that less is more and license plates do not need to be a design by committee project as proven in California with their rather sporty vintage black with yellow lettering plates.

White, NEVADA in plain lettering with license the plate number on a simple blue background is just right.

Less is more! A license plate need not be some tacky design statement. Colorado got it right in the art department back in the 1970s but most don't.

The thing about the new plates is that to me they look a lot like Utah's. We have them on all three of our vehicles. I've given some thought to getting one of the other plates for my Camaro, like the plain blue and white, but for what I've spent on registration fees I'll just live with these.

What really matters is that the plates say NEVADA on them and no longer ILLINOIS!

Without pictures of the new plates I have no choice but to assume they are beautiful works of art and that the OP is just hateful and hurtful.

Kind of bogus that none of the proceeds from the VGN plate will go to any charity. Here in MA, all the specialized plates have a charity associated that gets a portion of the initial and renewal fee.

That is up to the DMV not the Knights, plus they are keeping the cost down and only charging for the production cost of the plate

I totally agree with you. I wrote about it in another thread. The current hideous design was from school age children (go figure). Maybe I'll get used to it, but it IS just plain UGLY.
