I view it as upwards, not downwards! Another synonym for Californication is NewYorkification!

Living in NYC, I can tell you Vegas is much better off avoiding either.

I note that when you left, you went to AZ, not CA. If you think CA is superior, why didn't you move there?

Edited to note, no arrests are mentioned in the suit, (as of yet anyway), in case you don't want to read it all.

It is often said that classroom lectures are the most efficient method of getting material from the notebook of the teacher into the notebook of the student without going through the mind of either one.

Glad Trump has replaced 84 federal judges with a whole bunch more to go. Within the next 2 years the courts will not be the ally of the liberal left anymore. And if it has to get to the Supreme Court, oh well.

Quote:
As of November 4, 2018, the United States Senate has confirmed 84 Article III judges nominated by President Trump, including 2 Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States, 29 judges for the United States Courts of Appeals, 53 judges for the United States District Courts, and 0 judges for the United States Court of International Trade.[2] There are currently 57 nominations to Article III courts awaiting Senate action, including 7 for the Courts of Appeals, 48 for the District Courts, and 2 for the Court of International Trade.[3] There are currently 11 vacancies on the U.S. Courts of Appeals, 111 vacancies on the U.S. District Courts, 2 vacancies on the U.S. Court of International Trade,[3] and 20 announced federal judicial vacancies that will occur before the end of Trump's first term (4 for the Courts of Appeals and 16 for District Courts)

It's really just a bump in the road.

The GOP is statistically speaking a party for older white religious persons. Those demographics are on the decline and aren't coming back. The rub is whether millennials and the new demographic will shift their political spectrum as they age.

Everyone gets old, and if they don't, they shouldn't be voting (but probably sometimes do.)

I think a big change happens when people have kids. I think raising kids and seeing what they get exposed to has the general effect of making people more conservative. Of course less people are having kids now, so that may change things.

Also note that at points, the country had been more liberal (think in the late '60s into the '70's, then got much more conservative (through the 80's and, up and down, until now.)

I think politics will swing more liberal, but then, when that fails, will swing back again.

The data is from 2014, but it says Houston is highest in the country, at 8.7%. Las Vegas is second, at 8.0%.
