Contrary to a lot of the local discussion another indication that NV drivers are actually pretty good...

Not true. Number 16 about $120 above the US average. Mostly driven by the fact we are an almost entirely urban state. Around $800 per year less than MI the most expensive state.

Do not bend over in your back yard EA. The unicorn knows where to put that horn.

Florida is slightly higher than Vegas

The explanation given on Channel 3 last night was that there are more luxury cars on the road here that in most places (whoever decided that must not drive in the areas where I drive), and that there is a lot of litigation here (which I can believe, because on local television it seems like every other ad is for an attorney, mostly injury lawyers).

What I heard in the past is that there is a lot of auto theft here, which also drives rates.

I recently had to shop around for car insurance as my rates went up almost 2K. Most of not all insurance companies I called, cited uninsured and underinsured fuel the high rates. NYC insurance rates are on par here in Henderson.

Your mention of Michigan prompted me to want to look up which states have 'no fault insurance' (I already knew that Michigan and Florida do, and that California, Texas, and Nevada do not). The information I found indicated there are 12 'No Fault States':

Florida
Hawaii
Kansas
Kentucky
Massachusetts
Michigan
Minnesota
New Jersey
New York
North Dakota
Pennsylvania
Utah
