That time of the year to shop around for car insurance quotes. Currently with Progressive but I have gotten quotes from Geico ($100 cheaper that progressive), Amica (crazy high quote), Essurance, Farmers, but wondering if anyone recently switched companies because they found a really good deal.

If you combined home owners policy too let me know if the company you switched too had fair prices too.

Appreciate your help.

I comparison shop every few years too. Still have not found any better rates than Geico car insurance combined with Traveler's home policy.

I shop every year at renewal. Geico is always the cheapest. My driving record is spotless.

Switched from American Family Insurance to Geico 8 months ago. Did some research and local folks seem to be happy with the level of service and quality provided by Geico.

Not to sound cliche, but i'm saving $50 a month with HIGHER coverage. This is with a clean driving record, unmarried , mid 30s, male. I got a quote for home and difference was $10 a month so I didn't switch because I just pre-paid my home policy, but will be switching during renewal.

Seem that every company has an algorithm that measures risk to base their policy premium on. Geico's algorithm was favorable in my situation.

Geico does use a credit-based insurance score. Geico also gives a 15% active duty/retired military discount if you qualify.

Geico also drops you if you make more than two claims in less than 18 months in addition to raising your rates immediately. It doesn't matter if your record was claim free for 5 or more years.

I am using Amica for car in NV - for me it was about $100 less than Geico.

Been driving since age 16. I've never made a claim so I wouldn't know. I am probably due though.

I'm with geico, best I've found. Yeah, Amica rates are about double everyone else, and they send me junk mail about monthly.

Geico will also drop you randomly for no reason. I'm STILL paying higher rates because they dropped my 5 years ago.
