Okay I'm a sports fan, but the CONSTANT coverings are getting to be a bit much IMO. I do understand them for the PLAYOFFS, fine. But outside of that, it should just be about the statue itself. My gf mentioned that some tourist might want to take pictures of the statue without the coverings. Of course the replica can't be compared to the real one, but still I wouldn't necessarily like it if I went to NY/NJ and they had the NY Giants cover over it every year.

So it's now practically covered all year now by a Knights sweater, Aces jersey. Now when the Raiders come will they have one for that too? What about MLB or NBA when they come? Playoffs yes, other times NO! This place over does everything. I get people are excited about having a professional team and more on the way, but don't over do it. It's basically covered all year now.

Eh. The whole strip is nothing but ads now. Even the damn fountain show is an ad. We're in Idiocracy. Commercial jingles will be on the billboard charts soon.

The day I noticed there was a huge banner ad on the side of the Luxor was a sad day, indeed. Everything is a billboard.

The first time we saw the vodka bottle on the Luxor was the day we decided we would no longer stay there. Soon after the place went to crap. Later we wandered in one night to a live, obnoxiously loud, band on a raised stand in the middle of the casino floor. Idiocracy indeed.

Reminds me of the movie Demolition Man, in which all of the songs played on the radio were old commercial jingles.

That was my inspiration.

They all have to have something. I think the success of the first season accidentally set the new standard. It was pretty cute when I first saw LV Lady Liberty in a hockey jersey all dolled up. I wouldn't mind other team jerseys. People like dressing up their dogs. Some people have an entire closet of pet outfits in Las Vegas. I wonder where Liberty's dresser is kept.

Now that the season is over, MGM can you please remove the sweater (wrap) and just have the statue in it's regular state?

P.S. - Off subject, the penalty didn't end the season for them. They came back and still had a chance in OT. Blowing a 3-1 series lead is inexcusable PERIOD. They had many opportunities to close out the series earlier.

Right? Sharks won fair and square. That penalty aside, VGK caught up and tied the game, they had just as much of an opportunity to win as the sharks at that point. Better luck next year guys.
