I’m trying to decide if moving to Nevada will be a good move financially. I have 4 years of Nicu experience and I would like to move to buy a home. Living In California is stressful, a lot of traffic and expensive. I visit Las Vegas at least 4 times a year and I like what the city has to offer. I’m also looking for a good area to put my son in school. He will be in middle school. Looking to move next summer. Can anyone tell me the pay rates at the hospitals for NICU RN II working nights. Thanks

Try St Rose Siena campus in Henderson. They are highest paying, and unionized with California Nurses Association. Per contract, your wage would be $48/hr. (Year 2020) (That includes critical care differential). Night differential is $2.10/hr. You could also try at the St Rose San Martin campus.

Expect other hospitals in the valley to pay $5-8/hr less than that, usually with less desirable working conditions. St Rose is Dignity Health, a well-known California based company. Nurses can make decent income here in Las Vegas. And there is no state income tax. I think you’d like it.

Also, the Roses offer a generous relocation package for out of state new hires. The other hospitals can be great to work for as well. Just lower hourly rates.
