I have gone to Algodones for the past two years. It is 6 1/2 hours each way. We stay at the Casino just outside of Algodones the night before and have a nice meal there. Then breakfast and checkout the next morning. Park your car on the US side and in you go. Don't forget your passport.

If you do your research and spend a little time on youtube and the internet you can find the best dentists. They take U.S. funds and speak English. The trick to going there in the winter is to get in and out of there by noon to avoid the rush of snowbirds leaving Mexico. In the summer the snowbirds are not around so the line to get out through U.S. customs is not as long.

^^

You don't need a passport to go in and out of Mexican border towns, only if you're flying into Mexico.

My cousin and law in Tucson go down to Laser Dental (a haven for seniors!) in Nogales and neither have a passport and a number of those down there for dental work don't have passports.

On your next trip to Algodones, ask a customs guard, as you're presenting your passport to him/her, ask the question: What if I had left my passport back in Las Vegas?

More than likely they'd !
