I was to the one near Tampa a couple of times. Same ole, same ole. The old Hard Rock was fun as a party hub more so than a casino. We'll see if they can capture that vide in the new one.

I get the feeling, but I don't know this for fact, that the MGM lions were owned by, and provided to MGM by a third party. When MGM didn't want the lions on the property anymore, that operation opened their own facility for Tourists to see the lions.
Edit: I looked it up. The separate facility was always there. They used to truck the lions back and forth to the MGM exhibit. Now they just don't do that.
I don't know the relationship between MGM and whoever runs the Secret Garden zoo. I'm guessing Zigfried and Roy had a production company, and it was tied to that, but that's a guess. If Hard Rock wants them out, it would be up to that company to decide what it wants to do, build it's own facility, try to partner with another casino, or sell off the animals and liquidate the operation.

way back when i worked for the mgm, i had to work on some equipment in the dolphin area at the mirage. there was an office under the pool deck with a window into the pool. anytime i would work in the office, the dolphins would hang out next to the window & watch me. it was kinda cool

As a result, investor expectations of VICI's price are very conservative. It looks like a winner to me.
