I’ve lived in Vegas for 13 years and used the same landscape company for the majority of my time here, in two different homes. They were a small company operated by a single owner and a staff of 4 and unfortunately, despite our longterm, friendly working relationship, they abruptly stopped coming to my property in May. It took me a month to receive a response as to why they had disappeared and the explanation was that they didn’t have the manpower to service all their clients and had to drop some homes, mine included and had informed everyone via email. They did not send me an email. Had they done so it would’ve been the first time in 13 years the owner used email to communicate, having repeatedly expressed his distaste for using it in the past. For the last 7 months I’ve done my best to manage things on my own but it’s more than I can continue to do alone due to having cancer. I have contacted no less than 30 landscapers over the last 6 months and exactly 2 returned my messages. Only one agreed to schedule an appointment and then he was a no show/no call. I have 6 massive Queen Palms that need trimmed, a real grass yard I want to convert to non-live turf, 2 dead hedges I need removed and replaced, irrigation system and lighting maintenance and basic, monthly maintenance established. I need a landscaper who removes and disposes the trimming debris off my property rather than leaving it behind for me to handle (had that happen when my former landscaper joined with another company temporarily and they refused to remove tree debris; it took weeks before I could force it all into my trash). I know there’s a labor shortage but what I don’t understand is why any business would risk their reputation by outright ignoring a possible, future customer’s inquiry. When someone calls and leaves me a message at work, even if I know I’m not the correct office they need to reach, I still return their call and let them know that much.

Does anyone know of a reliable landscaper available to work now?

Labor shortage and the low fertility rate is catching up with the rest of the world. Fertility rate has now dropped to 2.0 in Mexico, and now facing a large aging population.

The 0-1-2 child family has swept the world. Even in India, the fertility rate has dropped to 2.0.

So, with fewer workers, expect to pay more and more, and have more difficulty finding workers.
