I wish all luck who apply. They said they expect upwards of 8000 applicants for those 1000 jobs.

And once the place is open for a couple months and the novelty wears off and the crowds thin, they will be laying off 20% of that 1000.

Still...any job creation is good for everyone.

I seriously doubt the novelty will wear off anytime soon. Those of us who live in Aliante and near it won't have to go to Santa Fe station anymore since we will have our own local one. The crowds may thin at Santa Fe station once Aliante station opens...

On the news they mentioned when Red Rock casino was hiring, they had over 100,000 applicants for a few thousand jobs. It will be interesting to see how many show up for the 1,000 jobs at Aliante station this weekend. And they are being really picky who they hire even for the jobs nobody really likes: keeping the place clean, emptying ashtrays, etc.

You have a real good point. I liked when I lived 1 minute from Suncoast. For you guys who live up there it will be less traveling for entertainment. Now I live one minute from Boulder Station and even though it's older and dumpier it's quick and easy to get to.

Im sure the results of the stampeed for those jobs will be on the local news.

Interesting...on the website there are a total of 7 jobs posted are they not posting those 1,000 on their site or is it strictly a show up to apply kinda deal? Just curious as I can't apply for anything yet as we won't be getting our Vegas address and phone until the end of the month.

And every once in a while a big name comes to play the Railhead.

Oh and Yellow Brick Road is great too but they start too damn late for us old farts to stay up. They been playing there for 5 years and still draw the crowd.

From what I heard, they are taking applications online and/or in person on sunday. The interview process will begin on July 15th, so since you won't be local until the end of the month, you may as well forget it for now.
But if you decide to apply, you would have to fly out on a moments notice for an interview if they decided you were a good candidate.

That's what I was going to say. They usually have at least 100,000 apps for new casinos. But it is traditional to lay off some of the new hires after a few months of operation. 1,000 positions isn't all that much for a big casino though.

When the test site stopped testing and all those scientists were looking for work, it was sad to see that the only casino jobs a lot of them were qualified for was casino porter.

They're only hiring 1,000 workers because the rest of the positions went to people already employed by Stations casinos(transfers from other local casinos) and those laid off by Stations. They get first dibs, then other people after them.
It will be nice once the casino opens, because when it does, the constant road work in our area will be done, and moved further down the road from us.
