The State of Nevada and the NV DMV are going to start issuing new drivers licenses. Sigh...there goes getting them right after the picture is taken. It'll only be ten days, allegedly, but we all know accurate that'll be.

So, they won't start doing it here until mid Nov? Hmmm, maybe I should hurry in and slide in before that. Reluctant to do it because I don't know if where I am going to be.

During that period, the new "Central Issuance" licenses will be produced at L-1 Identity Solutions' secured facility in California and mailed to the drivers within 10 working days.
Great. The same people that mailed my CA license to someone else, and someone else's license to me. That was a hassle... They didn't even want to give me a new DL# - after they mailed my license to god-knows-who! Can you say 'identity theft'?! They relented when I brought up that point, but it didn't change the fact that the risk was now out there.

I was pleasantly surprised when the NV DMV gave me my license the same day. I'll miss that.

Can you please get a new whine? The facility issuing is in California, yes, but the decision was made by DMV executives FROM Nevada, IN Carson City.

Oh yeah, I forgot -- Vegans don't like Northern Nevada either.

Yep, former N. Californian who often flew to Vegas and dropped many California dollars there and supported the economy there and now supports Nevada economy in Carson City. What a bad guy I am

According to the article the new licenses are to help prevent counterfiting. I believe that some people broke into the DMV on North Decatur and made off with the blanks and equipment to make fake drivers licenses. From the descriptions of the new ones, it sounds like that they'll look a lot like California (large/small pictures) drivers licenses.
