i really don't think there is much else, The Signature at the MGM and that is probably it...

Not on the Strip, but on Las Vegas Blvd, South theres a lot of housing and its very close to the Strip, there's Boca Raton, Park Avenue, Manhattan, Loft 5, and One Las Vegas

Ok cool. The Signature is wayyy expensive.

Exactly how close to the strip are these places?

The thing is I want to be able to come down from my room and be on the strip. Just to be able to walk down to any casino.

Plus since the strip is really the only safe place it's a great place to walk and just be out of the apartment. If I'm living on it I won't have to drive to it.

its about 3 miles south from the Mandalay Bay, the bus will take you there, if you don't want to drive, but it is walkable from Boca Raton to get to the South Point or from One Las Vegas to the Silverton, although that I know that's not as great as the Strip...

I watched this LV cop show the other night and wondered why on earth the city allows all those homeless people to just stretchout all over the strip area and they showed some hiding in bushes right off the sidewalks there. Can't be good for tourist business? Why don't they build a place for all those homeless guys and keep them off the strip. They were higher than a kite and drunk and filthy and laying on the sidewalks in bunches of 3-4. Didn't make me want to visit the STrip~!? Mayor needs to address that homeless situation and the crime on the strip and NOT have it put on tv to ruin their tourist seasons. I'm all for helping the homeless but also for cleaning up the strip so tourists feel SAFE!!!

The mayor has no jurisdiction there, since most of the Strip is NOT in the city of Las Vegas.

Most of the strip aka Las Vegas Blvd is not in the City of Las Vegas so the Mayor does not control it. And we have homeless shelters.

OP, I have only visited Las Vegas, never lived in the city there. But, I think you would be better off going in person and visiting the apartments mentioned by the other poster before you make a serious relocation. I have stayed in the Stratosphere, also MGM Grand. I never tried to walk the strip, it looked way to hazardous, we only drove to different hotels and did the tourist thing, and the gambling thing. Everything is very large, the hotel sits on large property, then large areas of parking, grounds. It is not at all like walking out your door and being right on the strip. Also, I would assume that anything near the strip would be very expensive, so make sure you have the funds for that. Only really wealthy folks can afford to live in the nicest places, casinos on the strip.
