The Visitor Center is at the Nellis main gate. The hospital security checkpoint is two blocks further north across the boulevard and not at all walk-friendly. It would be a waste of time to get dropped at the main gate to visit the hospital. I will be up there tomorrow for a medical appointment and will do some recon and report back.

The first order of business (After getting settled in at your job perhaps ) is to find someone on your shift that would be willing to pick you up at the gate and take you to the hospital.

Once I get my base credentials, hopefully I can proceed directly to the hospital checkpoint. That raises the question as to whether or not their is a bus stop anywhere near the hospital checkpoint.

I guess I need the address of the checkpoint next.

I wholeheartedly agree. Some uber drivers are claiming they can drop off inside the base after showing their ID and their passengers base credentials.

Thank you. I look forward to your report.

I posted a second craigslist ad for a rideshare with greater specificity, verbosity, and urgency.

Hopefully there is a good samaritan out there who wants some good karma.

That is the Las Vegas Blvd address above.
The hospital is served by RTC 113 which runs up and down the Blvd. Expect it has a reasonably convenient stop with a short walk. Think it stays on the boulevard.

Security at the hospital looks different. The obvious main entrance is gated off. So you are going to have to talk to the Nellis folk or wait for wvredleg tomorrow.

So I asked the USAF SP at the hospital security gate how a rideshare without base access would drop someone who would walk in. He said the rideshare could drop off at the small parking area and be directed back out the exit--it is a one-way loop from the intersection. To understand it, you need to google map the intersection of N LVB and Range Road, click Satellite view and you will see what I mean. You would show your credentials to the gate guard who would let you walk through.

No short cuts. It's only about .3 miles from that gate. Get on the sidewalk running parallel to Range Rd and you can see the hospital on the left--it's a short walk. There is a tank farm with fences all around, so trying to cut through any of that will bring your walk to an unwanted encounter with security.

Tank farm as in tanks, or tanks of fuel? Always curious.
