Alright this may sound dumb. Anyway what chance would I have at finding a job and living in the Vegas area if I went there with no savings or anything? I have an A.S. in Criminal Justice.

You should never move anywhere without any savings. Always have either a sure job or 6-12 months of savings.

Might look into overseas security contractors . . example (http://www.alutiiq.com/html/careers.php?id=395 - broken link). Depending on the deployment, "accommodations" could potentially be a cot in a tent.

I don't get it, where would you live until you got a job, even if you could get a job?

In tent city? I don't know if I would feel real comfy there.

Good luck though.

The Department of Corrections is hiring correctional officers. The salary is decent and the job is secure. You will need to fill out an online application on the Nevada Department of Personnel website in order to be considered. Most of the state prisons in this area are in Indian Springs, which is north of Las Vegas just off US 95.

I have to agree with everyone else regarding moving here with no job and no money: Don't do it. Obtaining a job takes time, and in the meantime you will need money to live on.

Do you plan on sleeping in the casinos till you get on your feet?
