We are looking to buy around this area and wonder if there is anyone who can give us some insight on that particular area. Any info that can given will be appreciated.

Winterwood is really old and rundown isn't it? I'd never buy on the east side of town again. Not a good area. Go west young man.

I agree. A lot of the homes are rundown as is the golf course, not the greatest area.

I have a friend on the east side, near Sahara and lamb. And she thinks the old well established east side is better than the far west side of The Lakes and Summerlin. She was born and raised here. A true relic. lol

I would say Desert Rose is the worst golf course in town, but probably the cheapest to get a house on the course at. Decide if it is worth it to you. The wife and I are looking in Green Valley right now on Wildhorse (older area, 1979) and Legacy (1993) for houses on the course.

Nice neighborhood. Over 2/3 owner occupied. And under $60 psf...Some under $40. Large lots.

Not everyone can afford $100 psf or more.

YOu need to check out the block...there are some that are going to be trouble...ie everything run down or 80% renters. I would also be concerned about the schools if kids are involved.

Something else I might be able to help with, Winterwood Blvd has no light and tough sight lines on one of the main exits onto Nellis Blvd. Nellis is curving in this place (and has very heavy traffic). A left turn onto Nellis southbound would be very tough certian times of the day and I often have people turning onto Nellis northbound pulling out in front of cars in the right lane becuase they just can't see the oncoming traffic. Now there is another exit onto Sahara.

Another Winterwood insight....

i grew up there when there were just empty desert lots in the area...

Nowadays its a drug haven and there's always a police chopper circling overhead, as well as robberies and gunshots in the middle of the night...Homeless people drift the streets and ask for money, some are even crazy and start yelling at you if you dont give them money....Not particulary safe anymore.

I can't recommend it anymore than i can recommend it for myself, because I got the hell out of there and let the zombies take over. Damn shame, too...Zombies took my home!
