Hi All,

I moved to Reno from Chicago after getting my Master for work for a year and I kinda have enough of Reno. I have been to Vegas a few times for business and convention, I love the city. My work has an office in Vegas so I'm thinking of moving there.

I am asian, mid 20's. I like the night scenes, stock trading, poker, clubbing, bar, hanging out, hooking up... Besides, I like doing side jobs too like hunting deals, resell on Craigslist and Ebay. How do you see myself fitting in Vegas?

I might be looking into buying a house too, I have a decent amount of cash and my job is very stable. How do you see the housing market is doing there and in the next few years?

Is there a large Asian population there, especially Vietnamese? Are the girls there like SoCal girls (gold digger, ok I'm stereotyping but just making a point)? Also, are white women into azn guys there? I find it is very rare in Reno.

Are Vegas people easy to get along with? Where do you go to meet new people, especially working professionals?

How is the crime rate? How is the weather year round?

I appreciate any inputs from the locals or people who just moved to Vegas.

Lots of nightlife, bars, poker and hooking up so you should like it.

I dont know about the women being into Asians, but I do know there are a lot of asians, i.e Korean, Chinese...I have yet to find a little saigon here, so I dont know about Vietnamese (huge community in OC, CA where I moved from) but noticed quite a few pho eateries.

SoCal women are better looking in general (sorry ladies) and it seems like all the attractive ladies work as cocktail waitresses or strippers which means they're jaded.

I have lived in both Vegas and Reno, and I like Vegas better. If you have money, you will have no problem hooking up with white women. Personally, I do not know why you would want too though as there are many absolutely stunning Asian women here.

You have a stable job? Geewhiz, it's been years and years and years and years since I met someone who had a job they deemed stable.

Lucky you!

And yes, lots of gold-diggers here, not deterred by the fact that we're officially the Silver State.

Most of them are looking for the easy way of life. You still may just get lucky and find a good one.

Thanks guys, anything else you can tell me about Vegas? Are there a lot of young white collar professionals there?

I would say yes. I work for a large IT company, and there are many young professionals there. I am a little jealous, I am only the security guard for them.

Funny cause I love Reno. I'm certainly not crazy about moving to Vegas. I always thought it was more of a visiting place. But the idea has grown on me as im pretty enthusiastic about new places.

I just have to say, don't assume that all women are gold diggers, no matter whey they are from. Personally I've been super independent all my life, certainly dont need a man to take care of me. at least not financially!!

The main thing I did not like is the weather. You have to remember the drunk does not like the cold. I was born and raised in Phoenix so I am not used to it.
