I'm flying in to Vegas on the 30th of may and have an apartment lined up already. I need to find some stuff to furnish the place as soon as possible. Does anyone know a furniture place that would be able to deliver something to my place the day I buy it? I won't be leaving the airport until around 2pm so I'm thinking it would probably be around 4pm by the time I get to looking for a bed. Also, I'm not looking for anything fancy, something in the price range of about $200-$400 for frame and mattress. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I am not sure anyone will delivery same day after 4 pm. You best bet might be to sleep on the floor for a night.

I think you have two chances: Slim and None, and Slim's out of town.

But you might call ahead to a furniture store and see if you can get something set up. Or order on line. ORRRRRRR....rent a truck or SUV and deliver it yourself.

You could check out the 1-800 mattress website. They usually will deliver next day, just call the day or so before. After 4 pm might be a problem because they usually give you a window, but you could ask. They may have a late "after work" window. Their prices are great and they set it up for you.

Another option is to buy an air mattress and bring it with you. I have an aero bed and it's really small deflated even with the pump. Also nice to have for guests. Check craigslist in your area for a cheap used one, they're plastic so cootie proof! They're actually pretty comfortable so if you get stuck you could buy one when you arrive. (I know Bed bath and beyond sells them.)

Or buy from Costco online & specify the delivery day.

If it were me, I would buy an air mattress & use that for a few days until a real mattress can be selected & delivered.

When you start looking for stuff, I suggest (1) freecycle and (2) consignment stores. Freecycle items are free, of course, if someone is offering something you need.

This is great advice. An air mattress is 40 bucks at wal mart ( I am sure you brought that much with your, don't be testy, I brought a lot more and ended up being happy I didn't have to by another 40$ mattress). And if you are agile, you can get a free bed off craigslist. I did--a couple, actually. Good luck and email me for any cl clues or if you have vehicle issues!

If you can come to my place on 4/20 I'll give you a bed.

Other appliances negotiable.
