My I-140 was approved about 4 months ago and now waiting for I-485 to be processed. USCIS site has monthly updated processing times. It shows that I-485 processing time in Texas processing center is 4 months. Notice date on my I-485 receipt is Nov. 8 2010. Should my application be already processed? My layer says that this is just how USCIS is and those dates don't really mean anything. USCIS site also says that: if your receipt notice date is earlier then the processing date shown, we suggest you call our USCIS Customer Service Office at 1-800-375-5283 for assistance. What do you think? Should I call them? Layer says I should not.

Call them- it is not going to do any harm, and might give you some insight as to why there is a delay. I am not very familiar with your type of AOS, but the people I have known who recently filed the I-485 have all been approved witin 5 months or so, so you are definitely delayed. Could be the laywer got an RFE (request for additional evidence) and isn't telling you...

My I-485 was approved in less than 2 months, but I was going from a K-1 fiancé visa, I also got a letter saying it was moved to a California office for expedited processing.

Haven't heard anything back, so I have to give them another call next week. I knew that I cannot be one of the lucky ones not having any issues.

My I-140 status was updated about a week ago from Decision to Post Decision Activities.

How much time did USCIS take to process your I-140? Are you EB2/3, etc?

I am EB-1 and I-140 was approved Apr. 25 2011 (with RFE). Notice date on I-140 receipt is Aug. 26 2010, so it took about 8 months.

Called them again. They said that I should have a result for my I-485 by Oct. 21. Hopefully it will be approved.
