I'm looking to do the following:

1. apply for the express h-1b visa (2 weeks approval process)
2. upon approval apply for SSN

2 questions:

1. Can anyone recommend someone good who can do this for me that is competent and reasonable?
2. Can i apply for the SSN as soon as i get approval or do i have to wait until October 1st?

Thank you

1. No- your employer needs to do this, not you. They need to have the lawyer, not you.
2. You will not get the SSN until you move to the USA.

It sounds as though you've been given some misinformation and it would probably be a very good idea if you read through this official website to learn all about the various visas which are available and how you have to qualify to obtain one:

Yes, I'll have my employer apply for me ofcourse. It just so happens I own the US company that will sponsor me. Registered in 2002.

Since you are a company owner rather than an employee, a H1B would not be the right visa. Look through the link STT provided to find the most suitable visa for you.

May I suggest getting a competent instead of a cheap attorney.
There are so many facets to US immigration the laconic senctence "I own the company registered in 2002" does not even allow a good guess.

Owner of a company cannot self sponsor himself for H-1B visa. Please go through the rules.
