Transfer To High School from foreign country (migrate, immunization, vaccination)

My stepson will finish his HS in the Philippines which is at 10th grade. He will then be a legal immigrate arriving in the USA and would like for him to continue his High School since in the USA High School finishes at 12th grade.

Anyone know what will be required of him to attend HS in the USA? We know he can only go to school in a school district that he lives in, but is there a pre-transfer test to before attending 11th grade?

Also is there any practice test he can study and what happens if he does not pass the required tests?

There isn't normally a test, as the public school system must accept him, but bringing transcripts/ recent report cards will help. Depending on his level of english, they may put him a year lower than his chronological age, or in a special non-native speakers class. You are best off contacting your school district now to find out if they want anything specific, also in terms of vaccinations etc.

Well he will have to have full immunization shots to enter the country to be a legal immigrant, so that's not a problem.
He will be carrying a HS diploma from his school in the Philippines to help him enter 11th grade.
