It seems illegals are now getting a green card and free pass to government money, jobs, etc. While E2 visa holders with kids who age out at 21 and many of them have been since a young age have no path to a green card while doing everything the legal way...
Is seems for liberals doing something that is considered breaking the law will be awarded while coming here the legal way is being punished with kids having to leave the country when they age out and can't get a different visa...is this what America is becoming....A backwards Country?

I can't believe this is happening!

Same counts for E2 visa holder kids! Legally here but not even allowed to be a RA at a College while a foreigner can fly in on a F1 visa for one year and get paid for being a RA.

Legal aliens seems to be worse off than illegals!

It's an investor visa only, set by treaties and agreements with reciprocal countries. If the business is a success then they shouldn't have to stay in the US for more than a few years. The visa is to make and receive money, and to provide circular migration. It was not designed or intended to be a path to permanent residency.

Part of obtaining the E-2 visa includes the requirement that they intend to leave the U.S. upon completion of their business as opposed to cry to lawmakers that somehow they misinterpreted the law and visa requirements and now deserve a green card. If the person never intended to leave, then they should have obtained an immigrant visa instead of a non-immigrant visa.

This shouldn't be a difficult concept to grasp.

If you intended to stay in the US permanently, then E2 was NOT the right path.

Except illegal immigrants aren't going to get a green card or access to the affordable care act or other welfare. Their deportation will be deferred and they will get temporary work permits.

That is more than many legal aliens get...and they get a SSN something that kids of E2 visa holders not get.

I guess some posters find that fair. I'm glad to know how people think about legal aliens...

Maybe it's not "fair", but Obama's action doesn't change the fact that you seem to have chosen the wrong visa for what you wanted to do. As someone in another thread pointed out, someone on a tourist visa is a legal alien too, but I presume you don't think they should get an SSN. Why didn't you go the EB5 route if you wanted green cards for the family?

It is not about me and EB5 means 1 million dollar investment in one of the appointed investment options and you can loose the money...not everyone has that.

It doesn't count if you invest 1 million in numerous properties.

There have been people who run big companies who have stated that there should be a green card for people who invest a lot of money or buy a lot of properties and spend their money over here since not everyone wants a job but will support the economy by spending money here which also creates jobs.

Brazil has silver cards for seniors who don't want to work but can support themselves and spend their money over there and something like that should be excellent to have over here since we have friends who are older who have health insurance and their own property but aren't allowed to live her year round even though they rather would live here year round and spend all their money over here.
Isn't is stupid to have people leave and spend money abroad while they rather spend it here without taking a job from citizens and no need for entitlements...

Many rich people would love to get a silver card and they are known who they are and legal, how can that be bad for the country!
