Does it bother legal immigrants that ILLEGAL immigrants may be granted immunity? (green card, Mexican)

It bothers a few of my colleagues, who are educated "immigrant-wanna be's" from Canada, India and China, all working here in Silicon Valley through H1-B's.
They are going through the arduous process of obtaining their greencards and are not happy that someone can "jump over the fence" and obtain a greencard.
Why would Canadians jump through the hoops of H1B?
If I had jumped through all the necessary hoops to become a citizen, it would make me angry to see others who were here illegally be given amnesty. It makes me angry as a natural born citizen. Do you think it's fair?
It doesn't bother me (a legal immigrant) at all. These people are fleeing persecution and are doing the menial, low-paying jobs no one wants.
You are probably one of those who hire illegals for $2/hour.
Nonetheless, paying a coyote as you say, will NOT cost anywhere near $450,000 or 10 years of someone's life.
Nor does getting a green card. My green card is part of the continuing priviledge of my life, which began with being born in a wealthy country to educated parents.
Let's stop talking here and go to the social services office asking for help. We should be entitled to our own tax money. If anchor babies and illegals and lazy citizens can get it why the hell can't we?
It appears that benefit usage by both illegal as well as legal immigrants is much higher than the native born population.
Welfare Use by Legal and Illegal Immigrant Households - September 2015
This analysis shows that legal immigrant households make extensive use of most welfare programs, while illegal immigrant households primarily benefit from food programs and Medicaid through their U.S.-born children. Low levels of education — not legal status — is the main reason immigrant welfare use is high.
Among the findings...
• The overwhelming majority of illegal immigrants have modest levels of education; therefore, the high use of welfare associated with less-educated legal immigrants indicates that legalization would likely increase welfare costs, particularly for cash and housing programs.

I'm tired of PAYING for all of these illegals. They drain the system. Los Angeles is broke because of illegals getting free everything. We can't even afford to pave roads. You let too many poor people into a country and it will put a drag on that country.
It does bother me as a legal immigrant as most people who are illegally here are not fleeing for their life's buy want a better economic situation which many legal aliens also seekers and got through legal immigration and doing the right thing.
I would like to know who is coming in them to be vetted like we were. Without that we have no clue who's identity they have stolen and taken and are they actually criminals or innocent people coming here.

Tell that to my wife, who has been laid off from two jobs and her work and that of her co-workers subcontracted to an agency that hires illegals.

As I said, let's put aside the economic equation here.
The legal issue is currently being discussed and addressed through a reform proposal, so I do not think this is the point.
Now let's say some of those people get a benefit from this temporary reform.
I still think that once it's done, people should stop ranting about it. It's like when you try to drive safe on the road but a stupid driver managed to drink and drive home without getting arrested. Well it's done. Would you try to report him to the police after that just to see him face his "crime"?
There was a time when it was like that and it is not a good memory for History .
But you CAN'T put that aside. It's a critical component.
Entry without inspection is not a criminal violation, but a civil one. Same goes for visa overstays. If you actually knew the law you are so up in arms about, you would be equating illegals to speeders, not bank robbers.
Back on topic. I'm a legal immigrant, I love the USA, I agree with the limited amnesty Obama granted illegals, and I'm not upset in the slightest. I disagree with all the chicken littles who think the sky is falling, because I've been living among a huge population of illegals for a very long time, and society in my neck of the woods is doing just fine.
I do hope that congress passes a law so that my many many illegal neighbors can come out of the shadows, but I think that they should not be able to vote or hold public office. They should create a non convertible green card that cannot ever be converted to citizenship.
They should also not be able to hold a job until every citizen has one. And NO benefits. NONE. Or own property.
Of course you're not upset. As an immigrant, I'm sure you are surrounded by immigrants, legal and illegal. That will naturally taint your outlook on the situation.
