Yet I cannot have some of my immediate relatives visit me because the US will not grant them a tourist visa.
I wonder if I can get my money back for all the money I spent on my wife's immigration to the US; maybe a class action lawsuit for all of those who spent money to legally immigrate?
It doesn't bother me. It's a reality that our economy depends on these workers.
The US economy has no dependence on illegal immigrants, who are not legally allowed to work anyway.
The only dependence there is are from business owners who want to not abide by the laws in order to make a dollar.
You stating the economy depends on illegal immigrants is the same as stating the economy depends on illegal drug use; both by fact contribute, neither are needed for a successful economy, both are violations of the law.
The solution to illegal immigration is so simple it's stupid.
Simply fine the gonads off anyone who employs illegals in rapidly increasing amounts and pay % bounties to those who identify and report them.
But neither party really wants it because
1. Democrats want new voters from the eventual expansion of their constituents,
2. Republicans won't dare impede the interests of businesses that need the cheap labor and who vote R. and
3. We are all happy to get housecleaning and landscaping at dirt cheap rates while we can.

Yeah that got my goat too.
My relative was denied a tourist visa because she is "too educated" and might stay back in US in a highly paid job.
Apart from the fact that she is extremely successful and not interested in moving to another country to start over...
the immigration officer's logic makes perfect sense because it's people like her that we need to keep out at all costs
Let's kick them out and eliminate the welfare and SNAP fraud. Maybe once those folks don't have any more government handouts, they'll realize that work is a part of life for most people.
Oh god, get real! Illegals aren't the source of welfare and SNAP fraud. Honestly any fraud in those areas pales in comparison to the fraud perpetrated by major banks and corporations and their various tax avoidance schemes. I know some very hard working illegals.

Those illegals that you love who are so "hard working" are also liars and cheats who have no moral compass. Let them go back to their own countries and be "hard working there". That's where they belong.
If you don't think illegals are "sources of welfare and SNAP fraud", then you are very naive.
This is a country ruled by law, not by leaders who act on personal whim. Illegal immigrants are "immigrants" in the same sense that bank robbers are "undocumented customers".

You're right. It's the Americans that we have to pay to not do the jobs that Americans supposedly won't do.
Funny thing is, if you get away from California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, or selected big cities, you do see Americans doing those jobs. Stay at a hotel in a place like Kalamazoo MI or Grand Junction CO or Lincoln NE, and see who cleans your room. See who does drywall in Montana and Kansas. Get away from the areas I mentioned and you will find fast food jobs dominated by high schoolers.
There are too many things wrong with US policies and situations that adding the whole situation with illegal immigration is just a drop of water in the bucket.
The birthrate in Mexico these days is around the same as the U.S. Many Latin American countries have even lower birthrates than the U.S. It isn't 1950 anymore.
This is C-D, stop being rational. :P
