I know winter isn't over yet but I believe I'm using way to much oil in my home.

I have a three story home with an unfinished basement about 1700 square feet.

Since November we have used 550 gallons of oil with another delivery of 150 gallons coming this week for a total of 700 gallons!!!

We have two thermostats and the upstairs always stays at 60 except when we are getting ready in the morning where we put it up to 67.

Downstairs when we are not home or asleep is down to 60-62 and when we are home we put it up to 67.

We are being cold to save heat....but we are still using a lot of heat!!

I believe we have zero insulation in the home but would like to know how much all of you guys use in oil this winter.

Thanks

600 gallons and counting. We are always cold here, too. Ours is an older home, we have done all we can to plug and weatherproof.

Sorry, all electric here. I wish we had oil!

We have natural gas.
But, I would like to say, we installed an electronic thermostat at the end of december. We just got our bill for Jan. and it was almost $30.00 less over December. I am amazed how much gas it saves. We have an old school steam radiator system, which guzzles gas like no tomorrow, so every bit helps.
Not to mention, since it is programmable, it is nice waking up to a warm house.
