Hello. My family and I are looking to relocate to the Lehigh Valley at the end of August. It is my wife and I, and our two children that are under age 2. We are looking for a place with at least three bedrooms. Our max budget is $1200/month, but would prefer to stay under $1000/month. We would prefer to rent a house for a year or two until we can repair our credit and get some money saved up to buy a house, but I know that could be difficult within that budget. If anyone knows of any apartments, townhouses, or rental houses that are within this price range (and possibly income-restricted) it would be greatly appreciated. We are getting short on time to make a lot of 90 minute trips from the Harrisburg area with our two kids.

Thank you.

$1K is tough for 3 bedrooms. Nearly impossible with 2 full baths. Even South Bethlehem / Fountain Hill tends to go for more than that.

Here is a 50 year old townhouse in safe area of Allentown. You should look for the 18103 Area code as opposed to 18102. The crime rate is lower

704 Mohawk St Allentown, PA 18103

There is a 1 bedroom with a den and 1.5 baths, 800 sq feet for $940 or $950 in montgomery county. They also accept pets. amenities include large pool and 2 tennis courts. The place is called North Wales, Pennsylvania. It is 25-30 miles away from philadelphia. This is not in allentown or near allentown.
but if you have a family well in the same apartment called east village apartments in north wales. that is 2 bedrooms and 2 baths 900 sq feet for $1165, but it is in a quiet place where the population is a little over 3,000. There is nothing to do here even though you are 5-8 miles away from a mall. And it is 25-32 miles away from center city philadelphia.

Pennsylvania man, You're going to have a tough time finding a house within that price range. I would suggest going as far West as you can. There are some links at the top for rentals. Make sure you check out the crime map and the schools.
