I'm going to be visiting the area for about a month with my family plus the dog in hopes of finding a job. I think the only option without a job is a temporary or short term place.

Will these places rent to you without a job? I have good rental references.

I'm originally from the NY metro area and somewhat familiar with PA.

Can anyone recommend some short term (maybe a month or more) rentals they've used?

Any advice is welcome about where to avoid.

How hard is it to get a job in warehousing/parts? How about in Customer Service?

Thank you.

I would look for an airbnb. The dog might be a problem. I do think it's going to be hard to get a rental without a job. Avoid center city Allentown. There's a link to a crime map at the top of this page in the sticky that has help for newcomers.

Go to temp agency and you will find a warehousing or call center job easily. SOme will try and lowball you and offer $10 an hr. DO not accept those jobs. Have some dignity. Only accept work for $12 or more.

Have some dignity???

Dignity for me includes being gainfully employed even if it's half a loaf.

WoodSpring Suites Allentown Bethlehem is right off 22 & Linden in Bethlehem and advertises $350/ week rates. Maybe call them and see how much a monthly room would be?
