A long long time ago, when we first moved to Allentown, we rented at Jordan Park Apts. I don't know if they're still there or not! Very close to the mall and lots of other stuff. I would guess that now the traffic in that area is a problem.
Later we lived at Macungie Village, that still might be a good place to check out.

There are a couple of posters that live in and like the Whitehall area, I hope they will pop in soon. If I were you I would stay as far from the LV mall as possible.

I work in Whitehall and am concerned with the amount of crime that i am seeing lately. I heard some guy beat another up with an aluminum bat at Walmart. Another guy threatened to pop someone with a needle during a car jacking. It aint pretty. Problem is WHitehall is up the street from downtown allentown. 7th turns into MacArthur Road. The bad element likes to travel outside of Allentown because they know its a dump. Theres better stuff for them to steal in Whitehall for them. Its like they let the zoo loose anymore.

I looked at an apartment on the border of Allentown and Whitehall and thought it looked good during the day. I ended up moving to Macungie (Brookfield Apartments, and I highly recommend them) and am glad that I did because I have since visited that area at night and there were definitely some shady areas with some shady people. I hear that there are some nice areas of Whitehall but since I am still new here I am not too familiar with them. I know that doesn't help much, but as I said, I am happy I chose Macungie.

Default Whitehall ain't bad

Whitehall is a decent place to live in the Lehigh Valley. Your close to all the shopping centers, this is a plus and a minus. On the weekends MacArthur road is a mess, but during the week it's pretty good.

There are many different areas in Whitehall the further North you go the more country you get. I have lived here for over five years and never had an issue, I go the the parks at night and have walked home with my son well after 9pm and never saw a problem.

The school district is also great.
