I haven't been to Fayette Mall lately, but I heard that there is an location in the mall under construction and on the front it just says Apple

I didn't think much of it, but then I did an internet search and found this:

ll - Fayette/Lexington (Ken.) - In late Dec. 2009 a job listing appeared for this 1.2 million s.f., "super regional" mall with 150 shops southwest of this city with a trade population of 758,000. The area benefits from its horse racing industry ("Horse Capital of the World"), Univ. of Kentucky (2 miles north), and large coporate offices and factories. The exact location of the Apple store within the single-level mall is unknown. The store could open in July 2010.

ifo Apple Store - Apple Stores Now & In The Future (http://html.ifoman.com.s3.amazonaws.com/chronology.html - broken link)

But haven't seen anything official. Did they change their mind? It is going to happen later than expected??

At the bottom of that website it says "page updated 4/2/08." That was over 2 years ago and it looks like somebody is simply guessing at future locations. It doesn't look like a reliable source. I'm not sure if the Lexington Metro area is big enough to support an Apple Store, since they are typically located in larger markets.

Hope not. If I see one more punk texting while driving on their iPhone (even more dangerous than on a Blackberry due to the lack of tactile response AKA you have to stare directly at the smudgy POS) I'm gonna break someone's window with a tire iron.

Thank god I'm moving to a state where texting while driving is illegal.

Job listings on Apple's official website say Lexington is getting an Apple Store. Go to the mall and see if you can find a barricade that looks like this: http://www.ifoapplestore.com/photos/...l_june21_1.jpg

Anyone know what store used to be in that spot? I think it was the Express Men's store, which I assume moved elsewhere in the mall? Maybe it's combined with the Express Women's store at the front of the mall?

I already "confirmed" it last month while at Fayette Mall after I saw the huge apple on the wall of the under construction store.
