I'll be moving to Lexington soon and wanted to get some opinions on apartments and areas. The apartment we had our eye on is Landsdowne Apartments on Malabu Dr. Is this in a safe area? Does anyone know anything about these apartments as far as cleanliness and whether or not they are rented mostly to students? I would really appreciate some feedback.
While I don't know anything specific about that apartment complex, that area is surrounded by nice neighborhoods. This complex backs to New Circle Road, so I hope road noise does not bother you.
I would imagine that it is a fairly nice place to call home for the amount of rent they charge.
It's a little faraway from the University of Kentucky for most students, so is likely to have other residents. Malibu Drive has lots of traffic, as it's a cut-through from Nicholasville Road over to Tates Creek, but as noted, it's a pretty nice area and is convenient to New Circle Road and the Lansdowne Shopping Center, which is smallish but also convenient. The Tates Creek Branch Library and a larger nearby shopping area on the corner of Man o' War and Tates Creek Road are within a mile of the intersection of Tates Creek and Malibu.

I think they stopped updating that website awhile ago.
Hey Kingping, I called the city and was told they still use that site. You can access it directly from the link or go through lexingtonky.gov, then click city government, then public safety, then police, then crime maps on the right. It takes you to this page and the lady assured me it is current. I use it every few weeks and the info has always changed.
