Good Morning all,

Im new to this forum but was just thinking about the new shopping center that will be coming to Lexington, The Summit. Just wanted to see what you all thought about the plans and how do you all think it will effect other businesses thats near the mall? Will it draw people away from those stores? Or will things balance out between the two locations??

Also, anyone know if any new stores/restaurants will be coming to Nicholasville?? I do know Smash Burger.

No idea about the issues you bring up, but one thing's certain: the already horrendous traffic on Nicholasville Road will become even more horrendous. I foresee additional traffic on Tates Creek Road/Pike (does anyone still call it "Pike" but me?), Man O' War, Brannon Road, and Clays Mill Road (also formerly "Pike") as drivers attempt to use alternative routes.

It's possible even Ash Grove Pike - still a Pike, thankfully - will see an increase.

I also hate to see the pretty Gothic cottage on the Fritz property go - few of that style are left in the Bluegrass, and this one has been gently treated over the years. Until now. It would be nice if it could be moved and repurposed.

Addendum: Bring back the distinctive, historical and colorful "Pike" designations for many of our country and formerly country roads, in the cases where history sets the precedents.
