A historic home in Woodward Heights neighborhood, that many had hoped to save, has been demolished.
Alltech demolishes old Pine Street house that preservationists hoped could be saved | Lexington Herald-Leader

The talk is that they want to build a bourbon history museum there. We'll see if that takes.
That part of Lexington is (and has been) under fast transformation--new housing, the expanded "Pepper Campus" area off Manchester (new bars, restaurants, brewery and distillery). The funding for plans to unearth the Town Branch Creek, connecting the creek and several walking/biking trails into downtown have been approved and are moving forward.
While I do think these new developments will make Lexington more stimulating, I always think it's a shame to lose historic homes, though this one was somewhat of an outlier.
