I am looking to relocate in a couple of months. I don't have kids, just my husband and myself. We don't want to stay in Little Rock, but a nice community close to it. I know that Bryant is closer to Little Rock, but not much else about the areas. We are looking for a nice quiet place close Little Rock to rent for 6 mo. before we purchase a home. These two areas seem nice. Any comments

Here is some info you might find useful. They are from the census.gov site.

Bryant

Benton

I wish I had more personal experience between the two cities. I think Bryant is a little nicer since it is a little newer. Plus it is a little closer to LR.

There isn't much difference, I'd look in both areas and in between, and base my decision on the rental, not which town it was in.

Both towns have been around for a long time, but there is more new development in Bryant as it is closer to Little Rock. Both have really big Wal-Marts on the interstate. Benton has a slight edge on restaurants, but both have plenty of fast-food places. Bryant has Lowes, Benton has Home Depot, the Target is in between.

I grew up in Saline County and Bryant seems to have a noticeable "edge" on just about everything Benton i.e. schools rated a little better overall, growth is a little more, developments tend to be a little more newer, nicer - just barely though. It's pretty much one in the same, however. Bryant is a true Little Rock suburb where Benton just happens to be a town just outside Little Rock that's growing with Little Rock. Have you also looked into Maumelle? Sherwood? Bryant would be the better choice although I would personally choose Benton because it's where I grew up.

I lived in Benton for a couple of years. I worked in Bryant because it was only about 10 minutes to my job. Bryant is newer; therefore, a little more taxable. Yet, both towns have the advantages. I still have family in both places. You have your "good" parts of town and your "bad" parts of town. Just live in Bauxite. It is right between the two. That way, the only hard decision is which Wal-Mart to go to.

I would choose Benton just b/c I grew up there and I know that town.

They're both about the same. If I were to choose a town near Little Rock, I'd choose Conway

Benton, Bryant, Alexander: Same thing...... I personally prefer Alexander over Benton and Bryant.

I personally like Bryant. It is growing by leaps and bounds. We are building a new fitness center, playgrounds, soccer and baseball fields. People are paying more for electricity in Benton.
