I am so disappointed. My husband and I are going to be working at UAMS fir the next 2 years. We are looking to rent a 3br apt/townhouse in WLR or any other nice areas close to the hospital. We have visited Stonbridge, Complexes at Pleasant Valley, Park at riverdale and... you name it. We have come to liked some of them but then there are AWFUL reviews on the internet....few with fair reviews but they are small 2 brs. No townhouse for renting, everything is for sale. No clean and nice home for renting. Gosh we spent the whole day driving and looking for a rent sign and Nothing yet. Dead tired and disappointed. What's the matter woth LR? does every body buy?

I don't understand why you didn't see any rent signs. And don't believe all the reviews you read because usually only those who have a complaint post. Those who are happy, or at least satisfied, don't bother. Two times in the past when we moved to L.R. we used a rental agency. Of course we had to pay a fee, but it saved lots of miles and frustration. Good luck, and please don't give up on us.

There are tons of rental houses, but in any area near UAMS they'll rent very quickly. (I snagged mine withing 15 minutes of the landlord putting out the sign- right place right time I guess.) I'd talk to the guys at Apartment Hunters (they helped me get some leads on houses in the area near UAMS in Hillcrest/Heights and then try again on a driving tour again a little later. This is the peak selling time in that area due to people moving in for jobs/residencies/etc. and former students or residents moving out for jobs/etc, and the peak renting time (when the most "for rent" signs are up seems to be in June when those students' or young professionals' leases are expiring.
