Residents of a development in southwest London took the opportunity to cool off in a pool suspended 35m (115ft) off above the ground, spanning the 14m (46ft) gap between two buildings.
The pool is located between the 10th floors of two luxury tower blocks in the city and holds 400 tonnes of water.

I saw this the other day, and the same company is looking to build an even scarier pool, and have released some images.
There are also plans to build a pool on top of a skyscraper in Brooklyn in NYC.
Staying on the pool theme, they are building a really deep one in Cornwall called Blue Abyss.
St Mawgan in Cornwall is to be home to the Virgin space port, and the pool will help train those involved in the space industry and the South West is also home to a major Royal Navy base at Devonport, so I am sure the Navy and off-shore industry will also make good use of it.
For the last 3 or 4 years, for Christmas I’ve been giving my younger son and his wife a gift certificate for dinner at some upscale restaurant, for around £150, ($210).
He sent me the YouTube video of the infinity pool at The Shard building at London Bridge recently, saying, “Christmas is coming pop, check this place out!”
I said, “Yeah right! £450 ($640) a night for a room to qualify for pool entry!
Start thinking of dinner at Club Gascon in West Smithfield, or Coq d’Argent in Poultry!”

A lot of these pools are merely gimmicks, and the truth is that London enjoys lots of good lidos and outdoor swimming areas.
In terms of the Shard it's expensive full stop and the pool is not even outside, it's just high up.

While I can’t dispute any of that, if I was a swimming aficionado, (which I’m emphatically not), given the choice of London Fields Lido with its heated pool in November, or an indoor pool in the same month, it would be a no brainer.

Hampstead Ponds are quite popular, and the regulars swear that a cold dip has numerous medical and psychological benefits.
Although I agree, like you I am hesitant to jump in to freezing water in the middle of winter.
You don't hear much from Ally Law any more due to the Courts imposing a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) following a conviction, whilst buildings and companies are increasingly taking out injunctions in relation to such individuals.
Break an injunction and an offence moves from the realms of civil to criminal, whilst any conviction can have a CBO attached, which also can result in a prison sentence if ignored.
Ally Law now concentrates on occasional overseas video, and other similar youtubers such as Nightscape and Ryan Taylor have seen their youtube channels radically change.
