Just looking for some info on daycare prices in and around the Medford area? Just trying to guess how much it would cost.

A few years ago we had both of our boys in daycare. They were 9 months and just over 2 at the time and we were dropping $1600 ; yes, $1600 per month to the daycare.

Eventually after 6 months, we had a friend mind them three days a week. That cost us $200 per week.

If your looking for "full time" day care you may want to take a deep breath before reading this....we looked into full time child care from 8-4,mon thru fri and they wanted $ 850 a week. YES, $850. Its totally ridiculous so my wife stays at home with the kids. It just wasnt worth it to us. Good luck!

Daycare at my daughters..on the other side of the bridge...here in putnam county was 1k per month..two kids would have been 1900 (10%) the older sibling. It ran from 8-6 included snacks, hot breakfast, lunch and was very very very clean, immaculate and under lock and key, nannie cams and all..we lucked out in that our daughters classroom had nys certified teachers in it.

I stopped working after number two..and thankful that I did..between dc costs of 2k per month..plus the way gas prices are..it would have been at least 2600 per month..and with our third on the way..NO way...its cheaper to get a nanny.

so what i'm reading here, as i am trying to get pregnant, i would be handing them over half my paycheck every week if i decide i need full day, full week day care! This is so scary to me...we were hearing things from friends who are looking into daycare now, but we didn't believe it was really that expensive! Is there any other cheaper option other than using family?

I think you mean 850 a month. I know tutor time charges 290 a week. I pay 1300 a month for a daycare in Melville ( 7am-6pm).
