I think my son would do better at a smaller middle school and high school. Some of these have over 1,000 kids and he has Asperger's so too much noise and transition is bad for him.
If you have kids in a smaller middle school or high, please recommend some good ones. Thanks.

You might want to look into Elwood or Harborfields.
Bethpage in Nassau County is a small school district and has excellent ratings. I live in Kings Park now and that school is about the same size as Bethpage and Kings Park also scores well.
Hi Gypsy - OhBeeHave is right, I'm in Mt. Sinai. One of the best things about the school is it's size. It's not tiny like Port Jeff (which is an excellent school) or big like 3V, Northport and some others. It has about 850 to 900 students in each of the 3 schools (elm, middle and high). There is room for kids to participate in almost every EC with out getting cut. I can't really speak for it's ability to handle Asperger's kids. There is one very high functioning Asperger's kid that I know of. He is VERY smart and the school chose to move him up a grade. He does have difficulty making friends, but I do know he participates in several after school clubs. Not sure what else I can say other than the academic opportunities here are good and the ability to be part of the school culture is excellent. Good luck on your search. I can tell you that there are some very nice homes here to buy, but very few to rent. When they become available they go very fast.
Wheatley schools are small sized, relatively speaking
