hello all, I was wondering if anyone had done a sunroom, (3 season) addition to their house, say off a family room or kitchen with sliders to sunroom kind of thing. I am looking to potentially purchase a home with one that looks to be prefab, vinyl inside and out. Built on wood framing over cement slab (about 14 inch open crawlspace). The room is about 20X18 or so, very decent size with a sloped roof, electric (there are two fans inside) and tile floor. Glass sliders to yard and windows all around the sides. there is no heat or a/c there. Anyway it looks like a nice room and all but I have no experience about the quality of these structures and or their longevity (feels solid to me) also, I cannot guess what it costs to put one of those is. From what I have been reading it can be possibly 12-25k or so. Can anyone with experience installing or a home owner with one or considering one chime in?? thanks, This is the one:

I have a 4-seasons room that came with my house when I purchased it about 12 years ago.

Plus: Extra living space during spring/fall months, looks pretty, don't have to deal with pesky flies
Cons: HOT in summer, FREEZING in winter, we get crawling bugs, does leak when rains (although dries quickly)

I will say this...visitors to my home always gravitate to it.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

ok thanks. I would have to assume somethign build in the last year probably is of a bit better quality than one from 12+ years ago, so I guess that is a good thing. I actually love this room, has two fans and windows all around so I would think it is manageable in the summer time but it is nice in the eveniing when it cools down and you can just sit there and chill and listen to the crickets!

I looked into them, but ended up building my own. If it is a 4 Seasons they are very good quality, and you are right with the cost, when all is said and done it would cost around 25k. The only problem I heard about with them is that with the shed roof if you get a heavy snow the weight can cause problems
