Request street lights? (Lynbrook, East Rockaway, Hewlett: taxes, to live, law)

Hello,
I just moved into East Rockaway and the street I now live on has very few street lights so it's really dark to walk through during the winter time. Is it at all possible to request street lamps be setup esp given the high taxes we pay to live here? If it is, please let me know how I can go about requesting it. I assume thru the public works dept?

Good Luck with that,. Took my Brother in Law 5 years to get a Light on the corner of his street in Far Rockaway. Did you try calling public works and see how you should go about it? "Town Hall" Maybe?

I figured as much. I found the contact information today for public works so I will try calling to see. Guess it doesn't hurt to ask even if it's a waste of time.

Are you in the Village of East Rockaway or outside the village with an "East Rockaway, NY 11518" mailing address?

Places with an "East Rockaway, NY 11518" mailing address that are not in the Village of East Rockaway are in the Hamlet of Hewlett, the Village of Lynbrook and the Hamlet of Bay Park .
