We have narrowed our house search down to these two districts. I would love to hear everyones thoughts on these two districts. Quality of education, what life is like living in these districts for the adults and kids (we have girls), friendliness, kindness of residents, sports programs etc. Any info would be appreciated! If people even have favorite streets/neighborhoods (in centerport, Lloyd harbor, csh) I would love to hear them. thanks!

I think CSH is one of the best on LI, far above Harborfields. CSH is one of the prestigious towns to live in on LI.

I agree with Gonphishn, CSH school district is the #1 district in suffolk and i bet it would place rather high overall as well. Class sizes are very small, and good student to teacher ratio. It also seems that they send alot of kids to respected school. My wife and i looked at CSH and lloyd harbor in our home search and only decided against it because we found an empty lot with a better view in another town.

I agree too...if I could afford to live in CSH I wouldn't even be looking in Harborfields.

Lived in CSH for 17 years. As nice as some parts are, Harborfields doesn't compare IMHO...

Depends on your budget

Over 1 mil, CSH for sure
Under 1 mil, Harborfields

Both areas are great.

Used to be written in stone. Now, there's a decent selection for under $1 million in CSH . My, how times have changed...

What's taught in CSH that's not taught in Harborfields? Any difference in the subjects or level of difficulty in the courses?

I grew up in Greenlawn and graduated Harborfields. Where I lived was real nice and became more developed with more expensive homes. But then as now there is the "other" Greenlawn which isn't so great, up where Sam's used to be. The town itself is quaint but certainly nowhere near the kind of shops you find in CSH. Back then and I'm sure now, CSH was known for having an Olympic sized swimming pool in the HS. There are some youtubes of when John & Yoko lived in CSH.
