I maybe moving back to LI in a couple years and have been gone for a decade. I grew up middle class, and have been told that with what I make and my net worth that I should live in CSH, Rosyln, Manhasset, or even Plandome. The problem is some of our friends kids when we lived there from those areas were spoiled and ungreatful. I want my children to grow up around kids who are hard working, but havent had an easy go of it in life. I guess what Im saying is I want a working class community with great schools. Does somewhere like that exist anymore? All input appreciated thanks!

You come off pretentious, but honest so I won't consider a troll... I fully understand where you are coming from. I grew up in Dix Hills and ran into some awful people, but because of how I was raised, I became friends w/people who had it all but also a good head on their shoulders. They work for what they have, even if their families can give them all.

It starts with you and your wife... raise the kids right and they will be impervious to outside influences.

Why do you desire to move back to LI, besides food or family, I can't think of a reason

Family is the only reason. I want my children to grow up around their cousins. Believe me if I didnt have family there I wouldnt even visit LI.. I get agitated just going back to visit..but in the spirit of family Ive decided to take one for the team!

You don't mention at all looking for the benefits of 'upper class', just the middle class toughness.

You should be more specific about what you need on the other side of the spectrum.

Babylon Village can be a tad snooty like Huntington.

West Islip perhaps.
