Hi! So I am looking @ houses in the Wantagh area and a friend warned me about the above.. that it emits a strong smell of sewage, etc. We see some homes for sale around Seamons Pond and Park.. is the plant still there?! I can't seem to find any info on it.

Pelletization, huh? It's most likely Long Island's first Soylent Green producing faciity, with plans to begin serving the south shore by 2012.
Although White Castle and Checkers had hoped to establish eateries in the area, local legislators voted against this proposition, and instead, opted for
the pelleting plant and the adjoining Soylent distribution center. The emphasis upon the proposed senior citizen death squads that were to be instituted
through the inception of advanced Obamacare, has opened up a new cottage industry that will be capitalizing on human byproducts. Our leaders have
plans for us, it seems as if they have always got solutions to our mounting social problems and you can always count on them to serve us...

This is one of the most confusing threads I can recall seeing on here, LOL...

First off, pelletization I had to look up - and having grown up, and lived, in this general area for the better part of almost three decades I can pretty confidently state there is no such thing. In fact, I'm about 99.999999999% certain there isn't any type of factory or plant in Wantagh. There is one exception, which I'll get to - but first...

What area are you even talking about? What are the main cross streets? There is a "Seaman's Neck Park" on the bay in Seaford, and there is a little-known "Seaman Pond" in Wantagh (one of the bodies of water in the Twin Lakes Preserve)... but I have a sneaking suspicion you're actually talking about Cedar Creek Park which is where one of the Nassau County sewage treatment plants is located, right??

If that's what you meant - it seems that the neighborhoods in Seaford in the immediate vicinity to the east of there sometimes experience the wonderful wafting scent of raw sewage backing up. Anything to the west or north* doesn't seem to get it, or at most it's incredibly rare. There was just another thread on here recently where this was discussed, but I can't seem to find it.

*= I do remember reading in one of the local papers once, years ago, where people in the neighborhood where the Jones Beach Hotel is located were complaining about the scent. That's just north of Cedar Creek Park, literally bordering it. I can't imagine any noticeable smell would extend past Merrick Road.
