I am looking to buy eggplant empanadas and beef empanadas. Anyone have any recommendations of restaurants that make great ones? I tried to make them myself but they were a flop. I looked online and cannot find any eggplant ones. I want to serve them as an appetizer.

I had some really good empanadas at Buenos Aires Cafe in Huntington . It was awhile ago, but they were really good, chicken though not beef.

Whole Foods ( Lake Grove) also sells store made empanadas which are pretty good. The chicken ones are good, but the bean ones aren't so hot. Haven't tried beef.

I second Buenos Aires. It's a cool little restaurant. Love sampling the small plates.

Never had the empanadas but everything else there is great, and I've heard that the empanadas are great too. Juanitos bakery/cafe, Rockaway Ave, Valley Stream

I've written about this place on here before when mentioning different types of ethnic restaurants in VS! Glad you like it!

watch out for the chicken ones, most places you the parts of the chicken that are considered "bad".
