Does anyone here use an arborist or tree care company of some type?
I don't know what is eating my bradford pears and now it's attacking my trees in my back yard ( I have two different species).
I never get my trees sprayed for pet and environmental reasons but now I may have to.
I also invested a lot of sweat equity in my all my trees and shrubs and want to get a specialist of some sort to come over and make recommendations to keep them healthy.
I brought a clipping to the nursery to see if they can identify the problem and they didn't know what it was.
So if anyone knows of a good arborist in the Smithtown area I would appreciate it.

It maynot be a bug problem. It may be a fungus [problem ; check your watering. If it is a fungus, you will know by the leaves going brown and then a hole popping thru. Also check the back of the leaf for bugs.
If it is a fungus, I dont know how much you water, but if it is more than 2-3 times a week ; cut back on it. Also if the leaves drop, pick them up as fungus overwinters and spreads under the fallen leaves. Fungicides should be applied at bud break so it is late now to apply them.

I haven't been watering yet as we've had so much rain this spring. The edges around the leaf curled up and turned brown. I don't recall any holes in he leaves. The trees in my back yard have some leaf dropping.
Hi Tom
Looks like a fungus. I would prune off any infected leaves. More because of the molted look on the edge of the leaves. The hole in the bottom middle one looks like a fungus that popped thru the leaf. The lveaves are also curled up. It is not apple scab. At least I dont think it is. It also does not look like any bugger is eating it (at the edge of leaves.)
Prune off any really badly infected leaves, discard the leaves and disinfect the shears inbetween cuts.
The leaves may fall prematurely.
I will look in my books in the morning.
