Charging for a cable box is like charging extra for the keys when you buy a car.

like I said, cable was the last company to do this. the other companies have been charging thier customers for years. cable had to catch up. it sucks, I admit it. I have 11 tvs in my home. I felt the pain.

If you don't like them, just stick a HD antennae on your roof.

except FIOS' new cable box don't have a clock on them!!!! Grrrr....

Anyway, we have 5 beds 5 baths, with a finished basement... and 1 cable box.

Internet / Netflix mailed DVDs are providing entertainment for the adults (who really has that much time anymore anyway)... while the kids watch the cable cartoons less than a couple hours a day. It sucks to pay $100/mo. for the package, but without tv, it's 2/3s of that anyway.

Have you seen the new Roku boxes? If you're going to go without cable TV, they offer a LOT of options....heck, the new boxes even have angry birds on them!
