My wife and are are thinking of moving my family out to Long Island. What are the best school districts? we're looking between 450-650k. We've always loved the North shore, but learning that some areas and/or school districts have taken a bad turn.
EVERY school district on Long Island is a precious gift from the government which - I'm sure - your child will benefit from greatly. There are NO bad school districts on Long Island that I know of - move anywhere you like.
the op started a thread on this already and no one said anything bad about any district except glen cove. which are these others that have taken a turn?
I have friends and family in the Island Trees, East Meadow and Plainedge school districts. I've heard nothing but very good things about them. All depends on how much you want to spend but also beware that just because you're paying a lot of taxes means you'll be in a good school district. What worked for us in determining where to buy our house was to review the school district stats such as test scores, graduation percentage, drop out percentage, etc.
