That guy was a legend around here. I've never seen him even express his option on any of the matters that lead him to interjecting with his knowledge of whatever area was being discussed. In my mind the guy is like a Bot. You say a key word about anything geographical and the forum bot (Walter Greenspan) threw in his info educating us.

Sad that he passed.

RIP Mr Greenspan.

PS
If these boards do decide to install a geography bot plugin that does exactly what Mr. Greenspan did they should name it after him.

You must have missed his extreme criticism of public school lunches or eruv construction.

Rest in Peace Mr. Greenspan....

I'm sure he had opinionated contributions to lots of threads, I just never ran across any of them. As I was writing my first post I was think that I'm not even sure if the guy is nice, vile, crass, a con artist, a bigot or anything. In my head he was just the map man.

He'll be missed none-the-less.

I was greatly saddened to hear of Walter's passing.

Maybe he's hanging out with the Rand McNally crew on the other side.

Very sad to hear. It is amazing how you get to know each other over the years in our little community.
