I'm not talking about medical bills. Your liability insurance doesn't have anything to do with medical bills in NY. NY is a "no fault" or "personal injury protection" state and liability cases aren't settled based on the amount of one's bills. You can break your arm and have a $5000 bill and your injury is worth $50K or you can have a soft tissue injury that you run up $50K in medical bills and it's worth $5000. Everyone in NY has a minimum $50K medical available to them thru their PIP coverage, and most people have more. And that's $50K per person in the car or a pedestrian hit by a car.
