Homes for Rent in Nassau County, NY | Homes.com

I used that site to find my home but they have rentals as well.

HotPads - Map Search for Real Estate, Apartments and Houses for Rent, Foreclosures and Homes for Sale

and remember that realty websites often have condo/townhomes for rent that might fit your budget.

FYI, both HotPads and Homes.com get their info from MLS - why not go to the source?

The OP mentioned that he found the rents very high for many apartments. We don't know what his budget is - maybe it's not sufficient for the current market. Right now, the rental market is strong, which is reflected in the asking prices (supply and demand!). That's probably why the ones you saw were gone...

Thank you all for your help. I am having a lot of trouble finding a decent place. I think it crazy to pay $1400 for a basement i know nassau county is close to the city but it seems crazy. I am going to keep looking. i guess i am back at my parents for now 32 and at my parents I don't have much going to impress a decent women.

Have you thought of moving towards the suffolk/nassau border? What is your budget and need to stay in nassau?

I am looking to pay no more then $1300 i don't want a basement i work in bay ridge brooklyn so i was hoping for central nassau but that doesn't seem like its going to happen. i would prefer a area like plainview or new hyde park. maybe i am aiming for to nice of a area.

You going to drive to Bay Ridge. Its a nightmare to commute. You have no option but the Belt Parkway and that is a parking lot sometimes.
