I saw this on another forum and thought it might be of interest here on the Long Island Forum - You can type in any area and zoom in and see what the average income is for that area. You can even zoom right to the street and see if an area is good.

Very interesting.

But "block" is an exaggeration. More like rich neighborhoods: poor neighborhoods.

I personally find this helpful, as we are planning on moving out of State - and it gives me a better mental image of some of the different areas we are interested in. I know quite a few people looking to move to Long Island post on here asking about different towns/areas - it could be helpful to them as well.
