$5500 to $9500. The Navien was the high end quote. A couple in between.
The $5500 was Burnham ES2 with indirect hot water. I believe it was a techtanium...
I really liked that one and the plumber. Shoudn't have bothered with the others but he was the first...

You also will not have to worry about replacing the hot water heater every 7-10 years when they leak.

If you don't mind me asking, did this include bringing the gas line to your house? I'm starting to look into converting and trying to get a feel for prices, and any plumber recommendations would be really helpful!

Thanks!

Unfortunately I just replaced the water heater in 2011 because it was leaking. That one had lasted about 15 years...

Thanks!

Already have gas coming into the house for my stove, dryer and fp. A line from the meter is included in the price though. From what I understand, I think LIPA would provide the gas service to the house free of charge if it is within a certain distance to your home. Not too sure since I have it already....

You are on the Island?

Got it, thanks. Looking to move to the Island and most of the places I've been seeing are oil based heating that I would want to convert over to gas. I've seen some other threads to get a feel for costs. Are the LIPA/National Grid recomended plumbers any good?

You should be able to check ahead of time to see if there is gas in the street in the event the house you're looking into does not have gas installed already. The recommended plumber are just like any others, do your due diligence and check out their history. They do have to meet certain requirements in customer satisfaction to become certified by Nat Grid.
